Digital POS transformation for this London-born footwear brand.

Kurt Geiger is a luxury British footwear and accessory retailer with over 70 stores and 170 concessions including at Harrods and Selfridges. Their brand ethos strives to unite people through creative vision, powered by kindness. 

the challenge

In 2013 we worked with Kurt Geiger to help them migrate their existing in-store digital media network into our managed support service. With plans to transform the brand to encompass ‘creative vision’, digital solutions would have an instrumental part to play in conveying this new approach to customers. 

Our Approach

After the initial onboarding of the various digital elements that composed the Kurt Geiger account, Pixel proactively repurposed existing hardware and infrastructural elements, helping save costs and reduce waste without compromising the overall project goals. Part of this involved the migration of the content management software to the SCALA platform which enabled us to fully manage the content scheduling, automation and hardware monitoring. 

 

After the migration was complete, we worked with Kurt Geiger to elevate their digital approach by developing new solutions, including the design and installation of a large format stacked LCD video wall entrance display and the creation of a platform to promote their new, bold, and creative brand visuals to capture attention and drive footfall.  

 

Additional high impact solutions were incorporated throughout the stores and their windows, including an immersive video wall, and bold, attention grabbing high-brightness window displays, perfect for combating the glare of the sun and remaining vibrant focal points in all weather conditions. 
 

We worked with partners such as NEC and Sony to deliver these high impact solutions. A great example of this is their Selfridges West One concession, which incorporates impressive use of LED signage to drive engagement of the Kurt Geiger range of handbags, giving the brand extra stand-out in an environment where competition is high. 

 

After a period of LCD-based rollout, we advised Kurt Geiger of the significant creative and operational benefits of LED based display video wall solutions, and have subsequently installed and  integrated several large format walls into their store digital media network.  

The Outcome

As each new store opens, we continue to deliver high impact digital solutions, with seamless integration and suitability for each unique store environment. We are also working with the client to deliver the same digital approach, retrofitted to existing stores. As with all of our clients, we proactively ensure the Kurt Geiger screen network is up to date and performing to its best via our centrally managed service and on-site support, 364 days a year.
