Knight Frank is an estate agency, residential and commercial property consultancy founded in London in 1896. Together with its affiliates, Knight Frank is one of the world's largest global property consultancies.
the challenge
With offices across the UK, Knight Frank’s network of digital window displays, allows house hunters to browse the latest properties no matter the time of day. Our freestanding window units are designed, manufactured and branded for each individual office and their requirements. We used a sunlight readable technology, a SCALA software platform and a content management process custom-designed to be simple to use.
Each branch is able to show its property details within minutes of them becoming available, while the head office marketing department is able to schedule UK campaigns across the whole estate at the click of a mouse. We also provide remote and on-site hardware and software support to ensure that displays are always on.
Our Approach
In those early days, LCD displays did not have enough brightness to cope with Sunny days. The best solution was presented as a rear projection set-up,using a special ambient light reducing projection screen. Several of these were installed in central london locations and managed through a connection to our cloud content servers.
Subsequent to this project, as technology evolved, we have migrated Knight Frank to an Ultra High Brightness LCD solution. These new displays are installed into a bespoke, branded enclosures, each featuring laser-cut logos and branch identifiers. The existing Scala based cloud content management solution was updated to work with these new portrait formats.
